Create new parts

The master information for the new part must be recorded. Depending on the logistics concentration camp, certain data must also be recorded. When all data is defined, the part should be released for use and protected against changes.

This is controlled by the part status (ITEM_STATE). This part status is defined by an order term (structure) and can contain simple subfolders or the definition of a check logic using structure status. With the structure status it is possible to define a controlled, automated and cross-departmental creation of parts.

By analysing a structure status or sub-folder in the parts status structure, the responsible user can check for himself whether he still has to edit parts or in which parts status parts are still located.

Leaking parts

Discontinued parts are parts that are no longer needed or should be used because they have been replaced by a new version or variant.

Parts that have already been used or are used in current projects cannot be deleted.

There are several functions that help to lock such parts.

  • Part Status (ITEM_STATE)
    For example, usage locks can be defined in the parts lists so that the part cannot be inserted into a parts list by the design department.
  • KPI Auditor Discontinued parts Auditor ITEM_ZERO_QUANTITY, monitoring the warehouse and disposition inventory
    • Parts can be assigned to this auditor.
    • These parts can no longer achieve a negative MRP stock. The function is cancelled immediately.
    • If the warehouse stock or MRP stock is zero, the responsible MRP controller receives a system message.
  • Validity
    Defines until when a part has been used and allows the definition of a part (replacement object) to be used instead.

Recommended procedure for a run-out part :
Initial situation: Part has 100 pieces in stock and a dispo stock of 80 pieces

  1. Preparation of parts processors
    - Make part known to the KPI auditor ITEM_ZERO_QUANTITY
    - Remove minimum + reorder point in the logistics account so that the part is no longer ordered via the stock and requirements list.
  2. MRP stock becomes zero when a requirement is posted to the MRP account.
    - This machine message is sent to the MRP controller of the part.
  3. Blocking of the part by the disposition worker
    - Part is assigned the status "locked". Due to the blocking, the part cannot be used in new orders and production parts lists and the MRP stock cannot become negative.
    - MRP worker adjusts the master bills of material and replaces the part.
    - The sales roll may already be set to invalid.
  4. Stock is reduced to zero by a withdrawal
    - This machine message is sent to the MRP controller of the part.
  5. Invalid setting of the part
    The disposition manager of the part sets the part and all rolls to invalid.

Change provision

The provision is defined in the logistics account and regulates how parts are provided within the internal process.

It is only possible to change the provision if no more documents are assigned to the dispo account.
